Wendy : Well, he learned to run a company somewhere. He makes a ton of money.
Simon : That's the thing. He said he was bad at maths.

Wendy : At what?
Simon : Maths.
Wendy : You mean math?
Simon : We say maths.
Wendy : You must mean all the different maths. Because I mean the one basic math.
Simon : Whatever.

Simon : But Wendy, listen to this. He told me making money is easy. He said, "If I buy something for one doller, and sell it for two, I make money from that one per cent difference."

Wendy : One per cent? You mean a hundred per cent.
Simon : Right. The man can't figure a percentage to save his life.
Wendy : Tell me about it. You should see the tip he left me!



He was so mean.

- mean 의 두가지 뜻은 의미하다와 비열한이다.

- say 뒤에는 직접 전달할 내용이 나온다.

- tell 뒤에는 항상 간접 목적어를 사용한다.

- think 를 사용할수도 있다.
- Dean thinks (that) Kevin's a great guy.

- good 과 bad 뒤에는 in 이 아닌 at 을 사용
- I did very well > I did well > I did fairly well > I did badly. > I did very badly.
- I was very good at ... > I was good at ... > I was fairly / pretty good at ... > I was pretty bad at ... > I was very bad at ...
- 임무수행을 나타내는 표현들 위에 표현은 일반적인 평가이며, 아래 표현은 특정한 평가를 말한다.

passing exams
- 전치사 뒤에는 동사의 -ing 형을 사용한다.
- good at passing

- It was the subject I performed best in.

줄거리
Wendy and Simon are talking about their boss. Wendy thought her boss was so mean. But, Simon didn't think so. Simon thought his boss was so good. Although his boss did really badly at university and bad at math, his boss makes a ton of money. On the other hand, they different pronunciation. Wendy says math. But Simon says maths. But they agree that their boss was bad at math.
